Coffee, Kohl’s, and chores

By

Today was a bit busy as far as a day off. It existed for coffee, Kohl’s, and chores.

I started the day at this cute coffee shop, Good Grounds Coffee. I’m going to try out all of the independent coffee shops in the area. I had a latte named after one of the baristas, and it was delightful. It’s very much a place to sit and chill, with comfy couches. They also sell soaps.

I ran to the laundry first thing this morning and while my clothes ran, I did 20 lessons on Duolingo. I made it from the bottom of the league to #11. So basically, I’m a Duolingo queen today.

After laundry, I went on a shopping adventure. I was trying to find a good midweight jacket. I ended up spending several hours doing that: checking out the local goodwill, then to the “new” clothes stores (lol). I started at Macy’s – my first time in one! Unfortunately, i wasn’t really impressed. The ads make it look amazing, but it just gave me the vibes of a JC Penney. I then ventured out even farther to Dick’s Sports and Outdoor, and found one potential but the price tag was too much. Old Navy didn’t have any promising leads, so I ended the day at Kohl’s. Found the perfect jacket and got $35 off. Now I’m prepared for my trip this weekend.

My trip, you say? Yes, my trip! I’m headed back to the original hometown this weekend to visit for 8 days! I get to see my nuclear family again (hooray!!!) and then my extended family, including parents, cousins and grandparents.
